So here’s what I do to simplify my weekly chores: Cleaning thoroughly each week may seem like a lot to do, but I look at it this way: I clean for my family, I straighten up for company. Cleaning I clean the whole house on Mondays. Weekends are usually a messy time in my house so it’s better to clean after the hubby and kids have gone back to work and school. It’s also a great way to start off the week. If you have small children at home, I suggest cleaning while they watch a video or take naps.

    Be realistic with what you can save and toss. Above all, realize that organizing is like dieting. You can’t do it fast and furious for two weeks and think you are done.
